I'm an alter-er. I LOVE to jazz up just about everything I own. I see notebooks, calendars, frames, clocks...you name it, I see it and I want to alter it. I love adding my own personal touch to just about everything I can (even my laptop is "decorated" with Decor Elements). Well this little floral frog isn't any different. These cute little prickly things have become quite popular in the stamping world simply because it gives a nice solid (and heavy) base to hold your card upright for you to take your photograph easier. Ask my husband and he will tell you I am a "trend" gal. If someone has it, I want it too! Last time I was at the craft store, I was browsing the floral section and I saw this little frog and knew he had to come home with me. But the more I looked at it, the more boring it looked. So, I did what I always do.......I jazzed it up ;)
I added some sticky strip to the base of the frog and wrapped some Mambo Melon Pompom trim all around the frog. Then I cut out the flower from a covered piece of chipboard using the Flower Folds die. I sponged the edges of the flower petals and curled them under using my bone folder. I added a few rhinestones and then used a mini glue dot to add the tiny old olive button. I wanted my flower to have some dimension and since the frog is *heavy* I needed to figure something out since there is no way the chipboard can support this weight. I happened to have an empty brad container sitting on my table and I thought why not? I added a little strip of patterned paper around the edge of the container so that it would blend in with the flower in the photos. Super simple but just what I needed!
materials used: ice cream parlor dp, melon mambo ink, melon mambo pompom trim; flower folds die; rhinestones; old olive button; linen thread
Thank you so much for stopping by today!! See you soon :)
